I would like to know more about turmeric

I would like to know more about turmeric

The whole root of Curcuma longa has been used for millennia in traditional Ayurvedic medicine for a wide variety of ailments. In the meantime, countless scientific studies have examined the health benefits of turmeric. The best researched ingredient is curcumin, which also gives the turmeric its bright yellow color.

The leaves or parts of these are not edible. For food purposes, only the rootstock is used. The shelled rhizomes are considered to be extremely aromatic and tasty. Therefore, you can use the turmeric or turmeric also excellent as a spice, which is said to have an energizing and cleansing effect. Especially in the Ayurvedic kitchen, this special plant is increasingly used. This is traditionally based on the purported purifying power of the plant, which plays an important role within the Ayurvedic teachings. In this regard, this particular plant is also included in an ayurvedic medicinal drink with the significant name of „Golden Milk.“ ALWAYS FINDING MORE FREQUENCY IN EUROPEAN KITCHEN
In India, turmeric is numerous classic dishes, such as in Indian curry or in fried eggplant and similar vegetable dishes to find. The same picture is available in Morocco. Curcuma is also very popular in the North African country and is used to add flavor to numerous dishes. But even in European kitchens, more and more chefs are turning to curcuma as an aromatic spice. For example, Italian pasta dough is refined with turmeric. Curcuma can also be used as an explicitly aromatic spice for a smoothie. A little tip on the edge: The flavorings are always only really effective when curcuma is heated. In dry form, the plant provides for a slightly earthy-bitter and extremely spicy flavor.

THE TASTE VARIATES STRONG
If you do not use turmeric in powder form and instead use the plant or would like to enjoy the rhizome fresh, you should adjust in contrast to a light burning and resinous taste. In contrast to the yellow-colored saffron turmeric is also much cheaper. Therefore, turmeric in the western kitchen is also like a cheap alternative solution for saffron used. Turmeric, however, basically requires a dark storage space, as the spice quickly loses its aroma in light and, on the other hand, the color quickly fades. It is also not advisable to store for a long time as this has similar effects.

INTENSIVE COLOR IN COURT
The goldenseal can be used as a spice both fresh and in powder form , Turmeric is available fresh in organic stores but also in some supermarkets. In most cases, however, the plant is used as a ground powder. Turmeric, for example, is also a solid and important ingredient in curry spice blends. The yellow ginger acts not only as an aromatic additive. Rather, the spice with its intense yellow color also influences the overall color of the dish. It is not for nothing that turmeric is also used for dyeing textiles.

Phytholistic® Acurmin

For millennia in Ayurveda

The whole root of Curcuma longa has been used for millennia in traditional Ayurvedic medicine for a wide variety of ailments. In the meantime, countless scientific studies have examined the health benefits of turmeric. The best researched ingredient is curcumin, which also gives the turmeric its bright yellow color.

Everything worth knowing about turmeric

Curcuma – also known as saffron root, yellow ginger, or goldenseal – has recently become the focus of public attention. This is mainly due to the curcumin contained. Because this plant substance is to improve the health and general well-being. Especially in Chinese and Indian medicine, turmeric or curcumin is preferably used as a supplement to the daily diet or even as a replacement for medicines in the treatment of diseases; It is also often used as part of preventive measures to promote and maintain good health. There are now thousands of studies dealing with turmeric.

Region of origin South Asia?
Curcuma is a plant of the Zingiberaceae family ginger family. The name of this plant type goes back to the term „kunkuman“, which is native to ancient Indian linguistic usage. The term derives from the saffron yellow color of the rootstock of the goldenseal. Where the plant originally comes from is not clearly proven. Most experts, however, assume that the plants come from the rugged mountainous regions of South Asia. Curcuma is now grown in many other regions. In Indonesia, China, on the Indian subcontinent and in the South American tropics can be found large acreage. There are even ways by which you can grow this particular plant in Europe.

Intensive play of colors
The rhizome of goldenseal is fundamentally reminiscent of the rootstock of ginger. Both plant species are considered as stem axis systems with a corresponding final shoot. The growth occurs either close to the ground or completely underground. Due to the shoot-roots and the often subterranean location, the rhizome is also referred to as rhizome. Not for nothing is the name rhizome in Ancient Greek for „rooted“. In contrast to ginger, the rootstock of the turmeric plant has a very intense, almost bright yellow color. Curcuma is generally presented as a herbaceous plant, which is considered to be extremely enduring. Characteristic of the plant is the formation of highly branched rhizomes, which act as Überdauerungsorgane and tubers develop at their ends. The rhizomes show – in addition to their intense yellow coloring; sometimes with a more orange color – a cylindrical shape.

Many components

Curcuma offers many different ingredients and chemical components. There are up to three percent of the active or dye curcumin and about five percent of essential oils available. The latter consist to a large extent of so-called sesquiterpenes and monoterpenes. The antiallergic sesquiterpenes reveal anti-inflammatory and nourishing properties. According to studies, sesquiterpenes should have a positive effect on the nervous system and muscles. In addition, congestion in the lymphatic system can be eliminated.

MONOTERY WORKING AS LUXURY DUSTPENDERS
In contrast, monoterpenes, chemical compounds within the group of terpenes, are characterized by as a fragrance dispenser. They almost provide aromatic scents; For example, monoterpenes are also an important component of the fragrance of roses. The cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries as well as the food industry have been relying on monoterpenes for a long time. Especially in citrus fruits, but also in spices such as coriander or caraway, Monoterpe can be found. In addition to the essential oils, curcumin and various chemical components, turmeric also has some common ingredients. These include, in particular, proteins, sugars and resins.

The promotion of health is coming to the fore

In the recent past, a real hype surrounding the turmeric plant has been created. This is mainly due to the characteristics of the plant species and the associated benefits. In India and other distant countries, the extremely yellow crop has been considered a potent natural resource for thousands of years, triggering numerous positive effects. But even in local latitudes, the plant or the rhizome is increasingly praised as a spice of life or as a magic tuber. However, especially in Germany curcuma is still mainly known as an aromatic spice, while the effect on well-being and health is only gradually moved into focus. This is particularly due to the dye curcumin, which is responsible for a color between intense yellow and a dark orange. This dye bears the name E 100 and is used in numerous foods, such as margarine, mustard or sausages. Over the years, however, this dye has also repeatedly been the subject of explicit laboratory investigations. Amazing features and attributes have been identified and documented.

CURCUMA PREPARATIONS: NOT ALL PROMISES ARE KEEPED
The more the health benefits of curcumin and turmeric in the Focus device, the more turmeric preparations are sold. Here one must always clearly separate the wheat from the chaff. It is even caution, because some drugs have a rather negative effect. For example, the combination of piperine and turmeric is actually considered to be particularly beneficial to health, as the effect of curcumin or the corresponding bioavailability is increased. This is absolutely correct at the core. However, such an increase takes place only to a very small extent. In addition, piperine may also affect the uptake and metabolism of certain medications and thereby increase any side effects.

SOME PRODUCTS ADVERTISE WITH NON-POSSIBLE STATEMENTS
You should also not confused or even let false statements lead to a purchase of questionable turmeric products. For example, some preparations advertise that they have a particularly high proportion of curcumin. But this is not a relevant aspect at all. After all, the rate of absorption of the body, which is referred to as bioavailability, is always decisive for the positive benefit. In some cases, corresponding products coke with enormously high rates of increase in bioavailability. You should also pay close attention here. Increases of more than 185 times have no comprehensible or even scientifically proven effect.

Acurmin Phytholistic® and Acurmin PLUS®

The new Acurmin Phytholistic® alone achieves a 40-fold bioavailability through its natural substances. The product is the first holistic organic extract of turmeric. By using the entire turmeric root, Acurmin Phytholistic® has a particularly high content of curcuminoids (curcumin). By the interaction of the various plant substances on each other, the improved bioavailability can be achieved. The production takes place without synthetic fillers and auxiliaries. Also, no additives are added such as piperine (black pepper).

Acurmin Phytholistic® fits perfectly with Acurmin PLUS®. It perfectly complements the excellent 185 times bioavailability of curcumin from Acurmin PLUS® with the full range of Curcuma Root Phytochemicals. Acurmin® – One brand, strong duo!
